Editor & Founder, The Beat

Richard Atkins founded The Beat to address a gap he kept running into: AI news was either too shallow to be useful or too specialised to be accessible to the people making decisions around it. As a Technical Architect who has spent nearly two decades building production platforms across financial services, digital media, and enterprise AI, he wanted a publication that matched the rigour of the industry it covers.

At The Beat, Richard oversees editorial direction — the topics we cover, the sources we trust, and the standards we hold ourselves to. He reviews the weekly digest, adds editorial perspective where the story warrants it, and is responsible for ensuring that every article traces back to verifiable source material.

Outside The Beat, he leads architecture and technical delivery for enterprise clients through IntuitiveUI, working at senior level across cloud-first platforms, API ecosystems, and AI integration. He is currently completing a certification in Agentic AI System Architecture through ADaSci. He is based in the United Kingdom.
