The Beat is a weekly AI-focused news digest. We track what matters across ten primary topics — from model launches and policy debates to market moves and climate implications — and deliver it through four distinct editorial voices.
AI moves fast. Most coverage is either too shallow to be useful or too technical to be accessible. The Beat sits in between: rigorous enough to inform, readable enough for anyone who needs to stay current — whether you build AI systems, fund them, regulate them, or simply live with their consequences.
We publish throughout the week, deliberately. The goal is not volume — it is quality.
Each week, our pipeline monitors sixteen carefully selected sources spanning specialist publications and mainstream technology media. Articles are curated by topic, deduplicated across sources where the same story has been covered by multiple outlets, and scored for relevance and editorial value.
Selected articles are then rewritten by one of our four editorial personas using AI-assisted composition — each persona has a defined voice, audience, and perspective. The original source is always cited at the foot of every article. We do not fabricate facts; every claim traces back to the source material.
We are transparent about this process because we believe transparency is the foundation of editorial trust. The Beat uses AI as a writing and curation tool, not as a replacement for editorial judgement.
The Analyst
Covers AI through a finance and markets lens — funding rounds, corporate strategy, macroeconomic impact, and the business cases driving AI adoption.
The Steward
Examines AI through a societal and environmental lens — policy, regulation, ethics, climate impact, and the human consequences of AI at scale.
The Engineer
Explores the technical layer — model architectures, new frameworks, open-source releases, infrastructure, and what actually matters under the hood.
The Optimist
Tells the stories that get lost in the noise — AI doing measurable good in clinics, classrooms, and communities. Exclusive to our Hope in AI section.
Every article is assigned to one of ten primary topics: Finance & Markets, Environment & Climate, Health & Science, Policy & Regulation, Job Market & Society, Models & Research, Tools & Engineering, Products & Applications, Security & Risk, and Groundbreaking discoveries.
