With a focus on personalized, continuous care, Prosper Medical's latest funding round aims to scale its AI-powered platform and make concierge medicine more accessible.
Prosper Medical, an AI-driven health platform, has secured $16 million in seed funding to expand access to its AI-powered concierge care services. The round was led by FUSE, with participation from Aurum Partners, Better.vc, Cal Innovation Fund, Fluent, Latitude Capital, Knoll Ventures, and Western Technology Investment. This influx of capital will enable Prosper Medical to scale its operations and reach a broader patient base across the United States.
Founded by Ryan McQuaid and James Wantuck, M.D., both veterans in the telehealth industry, Prosper Medical aims to bridge the gap between traditional healthcare and modern, technology-enhanced concierge medicine. The duo previously co-founded PlushCare, one of the nation's first direct-to-consumer telehealth platforms, which was acquired by Accolade for $450 million in 2021.
Prosper Medical’s platform is designed to provide a more personalized and continuous healthcare experience. Unlike traditional telehealth services that often focus on one-off consultations, Prosper Medical offers a membership-based model with a flat monthly rate of $69. This approach ensures patients have ongoing access to dedicated primary care providers who are trained at top 50 U.S. Medical schools and have an average of 10 years of practicing experience.
James Wantuck, M.D., co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Prosper Medical, highlighted the importance of continuous care during a conversation with Fierce Healthcare. “We grew PlushCare to more than a million patient visits a year, and through those millions of interactions, we really learned that there were some problems with just providing access to a great doctor,” he said. “Prosper Medical aims to address these issues by maintaining continuity across each interaction, aggregating data, and coordinating care.”
The platform also includes a Care Concierge team, which helps patients navigate the healthcare system and ensures they receive comprehensive support. This holistic approach is particularly valuable for patients with chronic conditions or those who require ongoing medical attention.

The $16 million seed funding round represents a significant vote of confidence in Prosper Medical’s mission to transform concierge care through AI. The involvement of multiple venture capital firms underscores the potential for high returns on investment, given the growing demand for personalized healthcare solutions.
Ryan McQuaid, CEO of Prosper Medical, emphasized the company's long-term vision during an interview with Fierce Healthcare. “We’re not taking a transactional approach to care,” he said. “Our goal is to build lasting relationships with our patients and provide them with the highest quality care possible.”
The healthcare industry has seen a surge in AI-driven solutions, particularly in areas such as diagnostics, patient management, and personalized treatment plans. Prosper Medical’s focus on continuous care aligns well with this trend, positioning it as a strong contender in the rapidly evolving telehealth market.
For investors, the potential for scalable growth is evident. The company's experienced leadership team, combined with its innovative technology and business model, presents an attractive opportunity in the healthcare sector. As Prosper Medical continues to expand its reach and refine its platform, it could become a leading player in the AI-driven concierge care space.
The successful funding round also highlights the broader trend of venture capital firms investing in health tech startups that offer solutions to long-standing healthcare challenges. With a focus on improving patient outcomes and enhancing access to quality care, Prosper Medical is well-positioned to capitalize on this growing market demand.
