Enterprise tech leaders now have a powerful new tool to measure the impact of AI in coding with Anthropic's analytics dashboard for Claude Code, offering detailed usage and ROI data.
Anthropic has announced the rollout of a comprehensive analytics dashboard for its Claude Code AI programming assistant, addressing a critical need for enterprise technology leaders. The new feature provides detailed metrics on how teams use Claude Code, helping managers justify their investments in AI coding tools.
The new analytics dashboard offers engineering managers granular insights into how their teams are leveraging Claude Code. Key metrics include:
As AI-powered development tools become standard in software engineering, managers often struggle with visibility into which teams and individuals are benefiting most from these expensive premium tools. The dashboard addresses this by providing concrete data that can help justify ROI and optimize usage.
"Understanding how your team is using these tools is crucial for justifying the investment," said Adam Wolff, who leads Anthropic's Claude Code team and previously served as head of engineering at Robinhood. "It’s hard to measure, and we've seen some startups in this space trying to address this, but it's valuable to gain insights into how people are using the tools you give them."

The dashboard integrates seamlessly with existing development workflows, tracking commits, pull requests, and user activity. It provides detailed breakdowns of usage by individual developers, teams, and cost centers. This level of detail is essential for engineering leaders who need to demonstrate value to stakeholders.
"For different customers, the data can serve different purposes," Wolff explained. "Some want to maximize their investment in AI enablement tools because they see it as a multiplier. Others are more focused on ensuring that they get the most out of every dollar spent."
Claude Code pricing starts at $17 per month for individual developers, with enterprise plans reaching significantly higher price points. The new dashboard is one of Anthropic's most requested features from enterprise customers, reflecting a broader trend toward AI accountability and transparency.
A screenshot of the new analytics dashboard shows usage metrics, spending data, and individual developer activity for a team of engineers over a one-month period. This visual representation helps managers quickly identify trends and make informed decisions.
The introduction of the analytics dashboard for Claude Code is a significant step forward in addressing the visibility gap that many enterprise technology leaders face with AI tools. By providing detailed metrics and insights, Anthropic aims to help companies justify their investments and optimize their use of AI in software development.
