Assort Health's new Assort Activate uses AI to handle appointment scheduling and payment collections, streamlining operations for over 1,000 providers and improving patient engagement without hiring extra staff.
Startup Assort Health has rolled out an advanced outbound AI agent designed to automate and streamline patient outreach. The new feature, called Assort Activate, is aimed at improving appointment rescheduling, closing open referrals, managing payment collections, and accelerating flu shot outreach. This technology is already in use across over 1,000 providers, according to company executives, and it promises to enhance patient access without the need for additional staff.
Assort Health was launched in November 2023 with a focus on specialty-specific, agentic AI voice agents that support practices ranging from orthopedics to cardiology and immunology. These agents handle incoming calls by answering frequently asked questions and routing patients to the appropriate clinic staff. The platform integrates seamlessly with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management software, enabling efficient appointment scheduling and issue resolution.
Now, Assort is expanding its capabilities to cover the entire patient care journey with the introduction of Assort Activate. This new feature allows health systems, federally qualified health centers, primary care practices, and specialty provider groups to book more appointments, speed up payment collection, and address critical care gaps without increasing the workload on front office staff.
Assort Health leverages a vast dataset of over 150 million patient interactions, 62,000 complex care protocols, and 1.6 million unique decision pathways from practices across 22 specialties. This extensive data set powers the AI agent's ability to handle nuanced patient outreach, which goes beyond simple automated reminders.
"Patient outreach is far more than just sending out a reminder," said Jon Wang, founder and co-CEO of Assort Health. "It involves multi-step referral follow-ups, managing no-shows with specialty-specific scheduling constraints, and addressing care gaps that often go unaddressed due to time constraints."
