Carrot introduces Sprints, an AI-driven program tailored for menopausal women, aiming to tackle metabolic shifts and support overall health during this transformative phase.
Carrot, a leading fertility and family care platform, has announced an expansion of its AI metabolic health program to support women navigating menopause. The company, based in Menlo Park, California, serves employers, health plans, and health systems, providing comprehensive care from pre-pregnancy through the post-menopausal stage. This new initiative, called Sprints, aims to address the unique metabolic challenges that arise during menopause.
Menopause is a significant life transition for many women, often marked by disruptions in metabolic health. These changes can include fluctuations in insulin resistance, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure. Carrot’s Sprints program offers personalized guidance on nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management, tailored to each user's symptoms, goals, and lifestyle. For instance, the app might recommend a short walk or suggest specific dietary adjustments based on real-time data.
The expansion of Carrot’s Sprints program comes at a crucial time when many women feel unsupported during menopause. According to recent surveys, over 80% of women report feeling uninformed about this stage of life, and only 20% of OB-GYNs receive formal training in menopause care. These gaps in knowledge and support can have significant economic implications for both individuals and businesses.
Tammy Sun, founder and CEO of Carrot, emphasizes the importance of addressing metabolic health during menopause: “This is a period of life where metabolic markers can fluctuate dramatically. Insulin resistance changes significantly, which means that nutrition and exercise needs must evolve accordingly. Sprints takes what we’ve learned from our preconception program and applies it to midlife.”

Sprints integrates with wearable devices to track sleep, activity, and recovery, providing a comprehensive view of each user's health. Members can also interact with live human coaches around the clock, consult with nutritionists and physical therapists specializing in menopause, and access hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and GLP-1 medications if needed.
The economic impact of unmanaged menopause symptoms is substantial. Unaddressed care during this period can lead to increased healthcare costs for employers, resulting in an estimated $1.8 billion in missed workdays. Women in menopause are often key leaders within companies, and supporting their health can have a ripple effect on productivity and morale.
“Women in menopause are among the most valuable leaders in any company,” Sun explains. “There’s strong data showing that unmanaged symptoms and lack of care can have a significant economic cost for businesses. By providing personalized support through Sprints, we aim to help women maintain their health and continue thriving in their professional lives.”
Carrot’s expansion into menopause care underscores the growing recognition of the need for holistic, technology-driven solutions in women's health. As more companies and healthcare providers adopt such programs, the potential benefits for both individuals and society at large are substantial.

Amara's entry point into AI was an epidemiology role at a London research hospital, where she spent five years studying how digital health tools reached — or conspicuously failed to reach — underserved communities. Watching early algorithmic systems in healthcare quietly entrench existing inequalities, she redirected her career toward the systemic consequences of AI at scale. She covers AI through an unflinching lens: who benefits, who bears the cost, and what evidence actually says versus what the press release claims. Her writing is calm and precise, but she doesn't mistake balance for neutrality.
