Cleveland-based MetroHealth and tech firm Artisight are teaming up to deploy a comprehensive smart hospital platform, enhancing patient care and clinical workflows across multiple facilities.
Cleveland-based MetroHealth System has partnered with health technology company Artisight to roll out an advanced smart hospital platform. The deployment will span multiple facilities within the safety net health system, starting with nearly 500 patient rooms at MetroHealth’s Glick Center hospital. Over the next two years, the platform will expand to three additional hospitals and the MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute in Old Brooklyn, Ohio.
Artisight's platform integrates a range of AI-driven solutions designed to optimize hospital operations and enhance patient care. Key features include:
These technologies will be integrated seamlessly into MetroHealth’s existing clinical workflows, including electronic health records (EHRs) and third-party systems like Epic.
Jill Evans, MetroHealth’s chief nursing informatics officer and virtual care executive director, emphasized the platform's potential to transform patient care. "AI-powered hospital rooms represent a significant shift towards more patient-centered, technology-driven healthcare," she said. "These rooms will enable our care providers to deliver more attentive and personalized care for patients and their families."

Artisight CEO and co-founder Andrew Gostine highlighted the company’s clinician-centric approach. "Our platform was developed by clinicians for clinicians with the goal of improving job experiences and patient outcomes," he explained. "It's encouraging to see such early engagement from a leadership team that is heavily clinician-based during the sales process."
The virtual nursing and virtual sitting solutions are particularly noteworthy. These features allow healthcare providers to monitor patients remotely, reducing the need for constant physical presence while ensuring continuous care. This can lead to better resource allocation and improved patient safety.
The partnership between MetroHealth and Artisight marks a significant step towards the future of smart hospitals, where technology plays a crucial role in enhancing both patient care and operational efficiency.
