A solo music business owner reveals how integrating ChatGPT Pro for a year streamlined tasks, from managing 100 to 200 annual commissions to juggling family duties, boosting productivity without hiring extra help.
Over the past year, I've been running my music composition, distribution, and licensing business with the help of OpenAI's ChatGPT Pro. My company, Sound for Movement, serves dancers and choreographers globally, handling 100 to 200 commissions annually, releasing 5 to 10 new albums, and managing a catalog of over 500 tracks. Balancing this workload with family responsibilities-being a father, husband, and caregiver-has been challenging but rewarding. This article is a qualitative account of how integrating ChatGPT Pro into my workflow has transformed my business.
On December 5, 2024, OpenAI launched the Pro tier for their ChatGPT subscription. I was already a Plus subscriber, using the tools and models extensively for several hours each day. At $200 per month, the Pro tier offered significantly more value than the Plus plan's $20 monthly fee. Without hesitation, I upgraded to the Pro tier immediately.
The Pro tier introduced o1 and o1 Pro, which marked a significant improvement over the Plus tier in terms of usage rates and capabilities. Here’s how these models have impacted my workflow:
Without a formal coding background, I began modifying Webflow codebases with JavaScript snippets generated by o1. Over time, this evolved into full-stack development projects. For example, I built several SaaS products, integrated Shopify for e-commerce, set up a CDN using AWS services, and connected everything to my Webflow site.
The quality of reasoning models in o1 and o1 Pro enabled me to tackle more complex projects. For instance, I trained generative raw audio models for music composition, which integrated seamlessly with my existing workflow.

I leveraged ChatGPT Pro for market analysis and product research. This helped me identify emerging trends in music composition and licensing, allowing me to stay ahead of the competition.
ChatGPT Pro assisted in creating flexible pricing models and licensing structures that catered to different customer segments. This flexibility has been crucial for attracting a broader audience.
Improving user experience was a top priority. ChatGPT Pro helped me design intuitive interfaces and streamline the customer journey.
From writing compelling product descriptions to crafting marketing campaigns, ChatGPT Pro has been an invaluable resource.
Beyond business applications, ChatGPT Pro has been a powerful tool for personal development. It has helped me learn new skills and stay updated on the latest technologies.
