Swoop's acquisition of prescription management platform Nimble bolsters its patient engagement capabilities and expands access to millions of consumers through independent pharmacies.
Swoop, an artificial intelligence-driven healthcare marketing company, has announced the acquisition of Nimble, a leading prescription fulfillment and pharmacy connectivity platform. This strategic move enhances Swoop’s ability to directly engage with patients and support their medication adherence, leveraging Nimble's established network of independent pharmacies across the United States.
The acquisition adds significant value to Swoop's portfolio by integrating Nimble's digital-first platform, which currently serves 16 million patients in prescription management. Talha Sattar, CEO and founder of Nimble, highlighted the shared mission between the two companies: "Both our companies are driven by a commitment to improving patient outcomes. This acquisition allows us to extend our reach to 50 to 60 million consumers who use pharmacies monthly, and up to 100 million annually."
Swoop's CEO and co-founder, Ron Elwell, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition in an interview with Fierce Healthcare. "We have been working on getting closer to patients and providing them with timely information that can help them stay on their therapies," Elwell said. The addition of Nimble’s capabilities will enable Swoop to predict when patients might become non-adherent, identify undiagnosed conditions, and anticipate specialist visits.

The integration of Nimble's platform also complements Swoop's recent acquisition of MyHealthTeam, a company that operates over 60 condition-specific patient communities. This move, announced in January 2025, has already enhanced Swoop's ability to engage with patients through social networks and community support. Elwell noted, "With Nimble, we can now provide a complete lifecycle approach to patient care, from initial diagnosis to ongoing therapy management."
The acquisition of Nimble positions Swoop at the forefront of patient-centric healthcare solutions. By combining advanced AI capabilities with direct patient engagement tools, Swoop is well-equipped to address critical issues in medication adherence and patient support. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, this strategic move could significantly enhance Swoop's market position and attract more pharmaceutical companies looking for comprehensive patient management solutions.
Elwell concluded, "This acquisition not only strengthens our platform but also aligns with our vision of creating a seamless and supportive patient journey. We are excited about the opportunities it presents and the positive impact it will have on millions of patients across the country."
