In a world where the digital divide and climate change pose significant threats, ZTE's 2025 Sustainability Report offers a beacon of hope. The company has not only surpassed its climate targets but also made strides in bridging the global digital gap through innovative AI technologies. This marks the 18th consecutive year that ZTE has voluntarily disclosed its sustainability performance, underscoring its commitment to transparency and responsibility.
Xu Ziyang, Executive Director and CEO of ZTE, emphasizes the company's new vision: "To lead in connectivity and intelligent computing." He states, "In the face of profound changes in the global digital economy, ZTE remains committed to empowering high-quality and sustainable economic development through technology. Our 'Connectivity + Computing' strategy is driving an intelligent future that is more efficient, green, and inclusive."
ZTE's commitment to innovation is evident in its substantial R&D investments. In 2025, the company spent RMB 22.76 billion (approximately 17% of total revenue) on research and development. This investment has been directed towards key areas such as connectivity (including 6G, optical communications, and IP networks), computing power, energy technology, smart terminals, operating systems, databases, and chips.
The company's focus on AI is particularly noteworthy. By the end of 2025, ZTE had filed approximately 95,000 global patent applications, with over 50,000 patents granted globally. In the chip sector alone, it holds around 5,900 patent applications and over 3,700 granted patents. In AI, ZTE has nearly 5,500 patent applications, with nearly half of them already granted.
AI tools have been widely adopted within ZTE, with a usage penetration rate of 79.78% among developers. This widespread adoption is driving efficiency and innovation across the company's operations. Throughout the year, ZTE declared and secured over 100 technology projects, further solidifying its position as a leader in AI-driven solutions.

ZTE's efforts to integrate AI into its sustainability practices have far-reaching implications for both the environment and society.
